Visual Ability Development: 0 to 2 Years

The visual ability of your baby starts to develop along with the maturity of the brain and also the strength of muscles around the eye ball. Nevertheless, the development of the visual ability is not only about seeing objects, but also understanding of what your baby see.

Generally, here are the development stages of visual ability in your baby:

  1. When baby was born, they can turn to the light source and wink their eyes.

  2. At eight weeks of age, your baby is already able to focus to the objects around.

  3. At twelve weeks of age, your baby is able to follow moving objects.

  4. At six months old, your baby is able to move their body in order to get the right position so that they can see the objects that draw their attention.

  5. At twelve months old, their tear duct have fully been formed.

  6. At two years old, your baby is able to see the very small objects, means that their visual ability is getting develop.

Do not forget to routinely stimulate your baby’s visual ability in your own way in order to be developed properly.
